A conversation regarding the Discovery launch
Person A: Our boys are now topside!! Congratulations to the crew of the Discovery. I'm proud of you folks.
Person B: Considering the Commander is a female, perhaps "boys" is the wrong term. Not to belittle the successful launch, it is definitely one of the more important events of 2005, just that my liberal heart still bleeds a little and I like accurate usages of words. Congratulations are in order nonetheless.
Person C: Anyone who is willing to be strapped to a few hundred tons of metal traveling faster than we can ever experience followed by a shitload of rocketfuel earned their dick and huge freaking balls, hands down. 'Guys' can def. apply here.
Person B: "Guys", yeah, because that is kind of ambiguous and doesn't carry the same connotation as "boys" which I can safely say none of the people on that Shuttle are. Boys have small, fragile penises, while that crew -- in its entirety -- have balls of fucking steel. Just trying to give them the credit they are due.
I'm just really bothered that some people insist on defining strength and courage by the size of their "balls?" It deliberatly excludes women to do so, and when a woman does show those traits, she's "given" a set of balls. Isn't there a better way to define it without referring to one's genitatlia?
