I am in the oddest mood right now. It's just been a weird day. I kept waking up this morning, but refused to look at my clock and just tried to fall back asleep. After about ten times of waking up/drifting back off, I finally decided it was about time to get going. Ha, looked at the clock and it was 1:13. Damn, I have just slept this whole summer away.
Got up, called Apple about my iPod rebate and woot, I'll get some money back before school starts. Not much, but enough to pay off my kickass iPod. Now I just need some kickass music to go on it (Andrew). Gah, I miss my iTunes!!!! The Apple store in Savannah has had my computer FOREVER! Just got my new iBook yesterday, but now it's there also...getting the items from my old hard drive put on it.
So I think I'm good with a place to store my stuff from July 23-Aug. 2. Hopefully. Emailed back and forth with the DUH (Dept. Univ. Housing) big wigs and I'm thinking as long as I keep a low profile I won't have to pay the break stayover fee of $250. If I have to pay that fee, that is just absolute crap, and I would just much prefer quitting my job as an RA and going ahead and finding a place off campus. It's probably too late for that, though. One more semester, Rebecca...one more semester. The RA gig isn't so bad; I basically get paid for just living here. It's just the beauracracy of DUH that I despise. I'm hoping that not everything in this world is like this, like a dictatorship and to get anything accomplished, you have to go through tons of middlemen. Sometimes I feel like just to simply discuss an issue with a supervisor, I have to go through webs of insanity--like calling a computer helpline (i.e. Apple).
Oh well, so this week...starting tomorrow, I'll be moving my tons of crap I've accumulated over the past four years into a temporary apartment until Aug. 2. Then, the new complex--yay! Well, I'll just be able to enjoy that until December, but yeah...then it's off to bigger an better things. And did I mention I found AN INTERNSHIP!
But yes, back to my odd day...I guess it wasn't so odd, just boring. I feel like I've gotten so little accomplished this summer. It's been fun being a research assistant with my favorite professor, but it hasn't been exactly what I was expecting. I guess I was hoping to have more hands on involvement with the study. Anyway, I guess it makes me feel good for just helping out. Wow, I go off on tangents a lot.
In summary, my day: woke up crazy late * talked to nice Apple reps. * forgot to log off AIM and went out * people tried to IM me * my roommate found it and was like "what's this?"--nothing incriminating thank goodness:) * took lunch over to Apt. 6 and saw Crystal and Patrick for the first time in a week * took Patty to Wal-Mart and Advanced Auto to get my brake light repaired * met nice peeps at Advanced Auto * got home, talked to one of the coolest guys I know;) * came to work at the desk and mortified myself on AIM * HAHAHA, and that brings us to where I am now.
Totally different note--E&E, hope you are loving your new plax in Knoxville. It has been awesome getting to know you two! <3's ya!
