The Wanderer

I am a wanderer. I mean, if I am left to my own devices in the grocery store, I will wander around aimlessly. There is something about the grocery store that turns fairly-focused me into a dazed, drifting shadow of myself. I have no idea what does this to me; it's probably something about all the different stuff that is EVERYWHERE in the store. It's not relaxing- it's confusing.
Actually, I have a lot of grocery-store-confusion. When I go into a new store, it's like stepping into a new little world. I don't know what my issue is- it's only grocery stores that do this to me. I think some hugely important part of my brain must get turned off when I go in there. Grocery stores must emit a high-pitched sound that only I react to, and it produces a brain-fog.

I have realized that I can count on one hand the number of book discussions I have had in the last six months that have not involved Twilight. (Not counting Internet discussions.) I have seriously had it go from Stephen King to Twilight. Historical fiction to Twilight. I have lost track of how many times I have mentioned whatever I'm reading and get "I just can't stop reading Twilight! I've read them all ___ times!" Don't get me wrong- I have no issue with Twilight, overall. I have read 3/4 books in the series, even. I don't even really mind discussing it- I figure that if it's worth reading, it's worth discussing. But has the (collective) world read anything else lately?

I am probably just cranky because more than half of these conversations result in my informing a very shocked person that, no, I did not like Bella, and I don't find her relatable. Some people leave after this, and some people continue to argue with me, usually citing evidence from the series. I applaud their dedication. I cannot cite evidence to support my views, just "Have you READ the book at all?!"

It's kind of strange just how much I enjoy writing about books on here.
