This is very good - it feels like Pullman's universe, and the challenges that Lyra faces seem very real. Loved the moment where she realized she really was an orphan now, and broke down sobbing, that's very her.

This is cool, and Davey's a really neat character. The constant switch between past and present tense in the same scene is a bit distracting and took me out of the story a bit. But the plot and imagery is really well done. I love the part with the alethiometer.
