ncis ficathon (and other) recs
the NCIS ficathon has had me reading a lot of NCIS lately, so I figured I'd come rec some stuff over here.
this is one of the few fandoms I have where I ship almost everyone (and can you blame me? they are all clearly doing each other). which means that these recs won't be strictly girlslashy. they will however all be clearly marked, so that you can avoid the icky het and/or boyslash should you choose to.

- Worth Talking by voleuse
Abby and Tony (and Kate) in the aftermath of "Twilight". one of the better post "Twilight" stories to have come from the ficathon. in character and plausible telling of how these two deal (or, in some cases, don't). and there's a screening of D.E.B.S.!
- No Man's Land by charlotteb_
an interesting look at Ari post "Twilight". I don't think it's perfectly executed (nor do I totally agree with that reading of Ari's character), but it's still worth the read.
- Love and War by crimsonquills
an interesting look at Tony's past. the ending is perfect - totally in keeping with the way these characters interact with each other on screen.
- Precious Things by the_green_sheep
short little actiony piece about the hunt for Ari. some really breathtaking writing.
- The Visitor by the_haunt
the funniest thing to come from the ficathon. Jimmy goes to Ducky's for diner. Mrs. Mallard is not pleased. there are incubi (or whatever the heck the plural of incubus is).
- Slow Motion Accident by thenewhope
and here I go recing my own stuff again. I feel dirty (and yet I'm still doing it). McGee in the days and weeks post "Twilight". sex, silence and other coping mechanisms. McGee/Abby and McGee/Tony.

- Broken by AJV
Abby dealing with Kate in the aftermath of "Heartbreak". a wonderful look at Kate's guilt over the shooting and Abby's fear of one of her family coming back in a body bag.
- The Long View by The Tenth Muse1
Kate/Abby preslash that picks up on the oh so obvious subtext between Kate and Suzanne in "Left For Dead".
- Sangria by Revanche
a first time story that's bitter and rife with the pain that often hides just under the surface of this show. yummy.
- Up All Night by deannie
Kate goes to one of Abby's parties. it's hot and funny.

- Somebody Else's Name by jjtaylor
Ducky takes Kate to the opera post "Heartbreak". they're both a little bit broken, and this is the perfect way for them to deal.
- Gamemanship by voleuse
Kate/Tony that remembers that these two don't always like each other, that they're more comfortable fighting than not. that works.
