Soca Videos!!! So I must admit I'm seriously out of the loop with what is going on in Trinidad (the country where my family is from). I've had several people ask me about soccer within the past few days after seeing my Trinidad flags in my car and in turn they got the "deer caught in headlights" blank look from me as I had no clue Trinidad was in the World Cup (wait, it is called the World Cup, right?).
Yeah, anyway, my sister telephoned me from Georgia to tell me to turn on BET and this was a good reason to do so seeing as how you couldn't get me to turn to BET these days even if my TV was on fire and the only way to put out the flames was to switch on some Black Entertainment Televesion.
Apparently BET is showcasing
Trinidad Carnival and has been since '04 (or at least that's when I started seeing it myself). I'm happy to see Trinis on "mainstream" TV and even psyched seeing good quality Soca videos! (Ya'll don't even wanna know about old school Soca videos *smh* or Trini commercials either for that matter) Now I don't have to hear as many people asking me if Trinidad is in Jamaica. *palm to head*

More to come in a future post, for now my ass is tired.
