don't panic... no wait,.. PANIC!!
So I saw Hitchhiker's Guide last night. Personally I liked it. I laughed at a lot of stuff. I didn't read any reviews on it so I didn't know how in depth it went into the series. On that part I dont know. A hour and a half movie skipping around ,what is it... , 5 books? yeeeeah. Sort of made it feel empty and extremely short. I expected to see more and was disappointed when the hour/half was up. And there was stuff I dont even remember happening. Point of view gun? What's with Deep Thought being a giant type statue thing? oy vey.
On the plus side... full body muppet suits!!!.. thanks Jim Henson creature shop!
The acting was mostly all right. I dont think I liked whoever played Trillion. Reminded me of Margot Kidder in Superman. Maybe I'm retarded. Nice to see Zaphod came up double headed, although it was in an awkward sort of way. Oh and Marvin wasn't as depressing as he should have been. I didn't like the costume either. Yes yes Warwick Davis was inside it, but Willow wasn't what I had in mind for Marvin. The suit just reminded me a whole bunch of what the Japanese are trying to do with their little robots.
So overall it had some nice visuals, some good laughs, some decent acting, and full body muppet suits. On the negative side it was empty and short. And the "love story" wasn't really neccesary. I give it a C+
