This is way ahead of time, but I'm wondering who I know is going to Arisia. My impression is that the vast majority of people I know, both well and loosely, will be there; but I'd like to make sure.
I'm also starting early because I'm looking to share a room with someone(s). My friend
eleri will possibly also be looking to get in on a share. Too early to plan for that, you say? Well, of the two people I know best in the Boston area, one's already committed elsewhere. Never too early to start!
I'm not picky about how many people are in the room. The more, the merrier, the cheaper. I just need a place for bathing, sleeping, and keeping my stuff. When I was in undergrad, we'd commonly cram 6 or more people in a room for CONvergence. However, I am picky about possible "sexile". If I'm locked out of a room I helped pay for all night, whether I'm sharing it with 1 person or 5, I'll be crabby. A couple hours is reasonable.
Yes, I know I could (and perhaps "should") commute. And I know that even if I splurge and take a taxi home every night instead of the T, it'll probably still be cheaper than a room share. But part of the whole "con experience" is staying in the hotel; not only is it convenient, it makes it a little mini-vacation.
