Yaoi Con 2010 Report~
Yaoi Con was so awesome!!! It's really hard to believe that it's over already, since it really creeped up on me as I was immersed in the world of school...... But I had such a great time!!! So much has happened, but I'll try to be as brief as possible in this report......
Friday:
- Went to class until noon and had mother & sis pick me up from uni ww Went to the airport straight away.... but not without an empty stomach. TAT We ended up eating at the Japanese Restaurant in the airport.... I was super full even when we arrived at San Fran xD;;
- Arrived at the hotel right on time w We got our badges and I changed into my Heero Yui cosplay for the night~ XD Some people recognized me and I got some pics & high fives ww
Taken from the huge ass mirror in the room while waiting for my sis to get ready lol. The room was right in the corner of the hotel so it was much bigger than other rooms~ (Yes I'm already in cosplay xDD)
Yaoi Con wrist band that you had to wear along with your badge in order to get into events. I always left my badge with my coat when going to the washroom.... thank god I had this with me as proof for entry orz. The only problem was, it was on so tight and secured so that I couldn't take it off TAT
- Went to Bishi Bingo~ There were a lot of rare prizes that could be won, including the special box set? for the Finder Series that had a bunch of random good..... I'm not that huge a fan of the series, but sis went crazy and kept buying bingo cards to play!! XD The staff also decided to provide a lot of fan service..... I don't know. I cheered and clapped for a little bit but a lot of times...... it wasn't my taste??? (Eh.....)
Saturday:
- MOST IMPORTANT DAY!!! Woke early and dressed up as Satoru from Bukiyou na Silent... and had so much trouble with my hair TuT;;; Never put so much hairspray and gel in it before.... but don't think it worked out anyways (oh well)
- Tora came by and we had a heck of a time waiting for her to put her red contacts in www
- Lined up for Takanaga-sensei's panel, and saw D-san & K-san (yay for alias lol) which I met at school~ Needless to say we started fanning a lot, and I didn't realise how much we actually had in common.
- Got into Takanaga Hinako (高永ひなこ）-sensei's panel! w She was such a sweet lady and even her translator was awesome!! XDD I lined up to ask her a question, and when they got to me, I asked her about keeping with deadlines and whether she's been through a lot of chaos to get her work done..... She ended up telling us two insane stories, one where she & a friend finished work on the Shinkansen and threw up from all the shifting of the train, and another where she was hit by a car while delivering her manuscript and worrying more of the manuscript than herself LOL.
Otsukaresama sensei ;;;;;
- We caught sensei after her panel finished and got to chat a bit and take photos with her~~ Then we gave her our gifts and she was surprised that we were all from Vancouver xDD
- Right after was Yamane Ayano (やまねあやの）-sensei's event, in which you could purchase one of THESE for $130 US (only 10 available)
LOL CHECK OUT THE SCREEN OF THE OTHER CAMERA I CAPTURED. NICE FOCUS.
- Though I wasn't as big a fan as Yamane-sensei, she was really kind to her fans and complimented their cosplays~~
- The questions in this panel were a little more dry, so a lot of the time sensei only gave simple answers? XD;; No stories, but still fun~
-Right after..... was the panel for Okiayu-san and Kiuchi-san (置鮎＆木内さん) w SO AWESOME LOL. Unfortunately the questions were pre-selected so we just sat and listened as they answered, but they were so..............FUN? CUTE? I don't know I didn't know if I should be describing people their age as cute ww But they had such funny reactions at times to questions and they poked fun at each other a lot. (Kiuchi-san was telling us how Okiayu-san kept saying he couldn't write songs... but would eventually do it anyway).

- After the panel finished, we saw them outside, and D-san & K-san immediately did a 90º bow and went "ARIGATOUGOZAIMASHITA". They just kinda waved and went off, but when we turned the corner both D-san & K-san did a fangirl squeal (OH YOU GUYS LOL www ILU)
- Went into dealer's room and spent on.... manga and a wig. ;;; I didn't find any doujinshi's to buy.... because they don't have my super minor fandoms. (The staff looked at me funny when I asked if they had Smash Bros doujinshi..... it's okay I understand TuT)
- Received a lovely Luigi plush from eponasong & twilibird from DA!! THANK YOU~~ >< It was such a surprise to be recognized even all the way in San Fran! XD If you had told me earlier though I would've stuck around longer TuT (Sorry I run fast as I always feel I can't get enough done...)
- Autograph sessions~ Takanaga-sensei actually remembered us and thanked us for the gifts!! >< So kind~
- The three of us also won the raffles for the Seiyuu autographs, and though not much happened, it was nice that the staff let us get them personalized so each autograph said "To ____" xD
- Bishi Auction later in the night............. It was definitely a good show www (I learned.... a lot about male torsos and abs....) Even Takanaga-sensei went up to tip one of the dancers w
- NEW CHALLENGERS. Okiayu-san & Kiuchi-san joined the auction............. and went for $11, 000 USD. Such a shocking amount ´A`);;;;;;;
Sunday:
- Since I did all I needed to do on Saturday, I actually didn't expect much to happen.... Didn't want to cosplay since I had no intention of rushing to change out (plus we checked out already and it'd be annoying to carry a change of clothes around...
- Caught Yamane-sensei after her meet & greet and got to take a photo with her~~~ She had such a pretty black dress on that we all went "Beautiful~~" XDDD
- Went to the Seiyuu meet & greet www I think after seeing them so much they recognized us by now loll We actually went twice to the meet & greet, once in the beginning, and once at the end, and even did a little cheer to say "otsukaresama" wwwwww (See, if it wasn't for D-san & K-san being such enthusiastic seiyuu fans, I would never have done it. 恥ずかしいいいいいいいい／／／／；；；)

- Went to dealer's room again to shop for last minute stuff loll Saw Okiayu-san & Kiuchi-san YET AGAIN. Except.......... They were dressed up wwww Okiayu-san was in pink and had a mask on, while Kiuchi-san had a full CHESHIRE CAT outfit. THE DISNEY ONE LOL. w So fab.
- Ended up taking the night flight home to Vancouver~
