Not always. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes the death is need for the world to survive, sometimes it's only done in maliciousness.

It's not really black and white like good and bad.

Yes. You asking these questions, shows you feel guilty for what you did. It doesn't make you bad, just as never killing a person will make you good. It just makes you human.

Still... the path of killing is one I would suggest not taking.
