From the Journals of Sean Astin:
Thursday the Twenty-sixth
Number of times I’ve completely forgotten a line this entire month: 12
Early Mid-Morning - Noticed that my journal habits are getting a bit sloppy. But it’s hard to keep time notations when I can’t wear a watch on set and Elijah broke the clock in our trailer in the ‘juggling’ incident. Now whenever I ask the P.A. what time it is she has started telling me “time enough for love.” Must be a Robert Heinlein fan.
Brought in a new toothbrush for the trailer as well. I am still certain that mine was damp yesterday morning when I hadn’t used it. Maybe I’ll get new ones for all the other actors as well - you can’t be too careful. Viggo looks like he may really need a toothbrush anyhow.
Do they sell organic toothpaste here in New Zealand? The tubes I brought from home are running low.
Pre-lunch - Just ran into Sean Bean. He’s not in costume, but was on set for some sort of meeting. Must talk to him about his smoking. Bad role model for the younger actors.
Bean told me that he only smokes because Ian McKellen does. Will have to nip this in the bud!
Loud argument heard taking place inside the C***bago. I was going to investigate but Dominic told me that I was needed urgently by Peter. Turned out to be a false alarm, and the argument was over by the time I returned.
Post-lunch - Ian informed me rather primly that he primarily smokes marijuana. GREAT role model. Sigh. And now Orlando is clearly avoiding both Viggo and Bean. This bodes ill for the Fellowship. Will have to investigate.
Note to self: Mint Organic Toothpaste, and dental floss. 1 case each.
