CHRISTMAS!!
Seeing as how I have no time to do Christmas cards this year, I decided not to sign up on anyone else's card post. So it's not that I don't want your card or whatever, I'm just electing not to selfishly hoard cards while you guys get NOTHING! MWUHAHAHAHA! *clears throat*
Anyway, since I signed up for hohohos Secret Santa Exchange, I thought it'd be nice of me to actually *do* that wishlist deal, so they'd have something to go by!
Step One
--Make a post (public, friends locked,filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a newcar/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
--If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
--Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
--Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
--If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use-or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free-do it.
--You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holidayelf-to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not-it's your call.
--There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. To pass the CPA Exam. Seriously. If anyone can help me out with that, I would just love you forever.
2. Icons. I'm an icon whore, who secretly loves having icons that no one else does. Yes, I AM five.
3. Extra userpics and paid time is ALWAYS great.
4. SGA Kid!fic, preferably McShep - Doesn't need to be mpreg, doesn't have to be their kid. I just love Rodney being all . . . himself around a kid and John just enjoying them winding each other up.
5. Banners! I have no SGA banners. This needs to be rectifiied! But I'd love an SV and SPN banner too.
6. Help with my layout. I want it to be pretty! And I'd love to have rotating banners! *is ambitious*
7. Giftcards! Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath and Beyond, whatever.
8. Cute socks - any kind.
9. DVDs - Burned copies are great. I like most any kind of movie: those great cheesy eighties (Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, etc) to recent movies (V for Vendetta, The Lake House [don't judge me!]) to comedians (Dane Cook, Lewis Black, etc). I'm easy to please.
10. Go forth and grant other wishes! So much fun! CHRISTMAS!!
Also, I already have a stack of stuff sitting in my living room floor to be wrapped and mailed to random lj people! IT'S REALLY CHRISTMAS!!
Now I just need to put up my tree. . .
