So I get an e-mail from the head of the department essentially scolding the faculty for not responding to an RSVP about some event at the library. Apparantly, the once-private Ulysses S. Grant foundation, a group that collects copies or originals of material relating to General Ulysses S. Grant, has decided to move its holdings to Mississippi State University and open its doors to scholars.
So they moved it to Mississippi.
A General Ulysses S. Mother Fucking Grant collection. In Mississippi.
That'd be the same as putting a "History and Creation of the Atom Bomb" museum in Hiroshima, Japan.
Almost makes me mad enough to want to do something stupid.
The same son-of-a-bitch who let Sherman slaughter so many Southerners, white and black. The same man who imposed the Reconstruction and allowed Jim Crow. The same man who rather happily destroyed the South he didn't approve of.
