Last night I hit 10k words without even realising it, but I couldn't update my profile because the internet was out (again). Things are going as scheduled and I haven't reached any major writer's blocks yet.
I'm quite upset that my bread went mouldy after Thursday's night's steamy rain. Now I'm worried that I didn't check the bread on Wednesday to see if it was mouldy then and I would have eaten 3 slices of bread, mould and jam for breakfast that morning.
Characters: Okay, I suppose. Not particularly captivating in any way, and I have this one dude who seems to be the tag-along and I haven't found a way to make him useful yet. (Oh of course, just as I type that down, an idea hits me)
Plot: Fine. I'm still following that vague outline I made the night before November 1st.
Setting: Vague. I think it might be spring/summer in the story, but I'm still undecided if it's in a fantasy setting or not. This is 10k in :/
Dialogue: Stilted and juvenile. They talk like they're awkward teenagers.
The only thing I've done well is pacing, I think. So far, all they've done is travel and interact, so I'm a little worried about needing to write the action scenes that would come later (30k or so) but we'll cross the bridge when we come to it. I still have to write the dare I picked at the Kickoff Party - something about a sociable duck, although I might be mean and have someone mistakenly butcher it for dinner. Who knows?
PS. No one will read this 50k monster when I'm done, stop asking.
