*cuddles up on the couch*
Thank you,

And thank you,
kebab1806 for the snowflake in my userinfo! I wish you the best over the holidays as well. *hugs you*
After dinner yesterday the stress and staying up way too late for the last week* finally caught up with me and I had trouble staying awake while presents were being opened. Even more so once I've changed out of my nice dress and into new fleece pajama bottoms, long night dress and with a wonderful pashmere shawl wrapped around me. (I also got two pair of wristwarmers. Me thinks my constant complaints of being cold might have had some impact on this years presents. lol) Once things settled down I tried my best to stay alert but by half past eleven I was completely done and went to bed. Before the kids!
Then I woke up a little past 3 am and spent the next two and a half hours on the toilet with the worst stomach ever! I have no idea what brought it on but it must be something in the food because we ate leftovers for brunch and half an hour later my stomach was back hurting, not as badly though.
Everyone got way too much as usual, especially the kids who got tons of toys, books and clothes. Yay for Christmas and generous grandparents. lol We got a cookbook, "Gluten Free and Easy!" and the Asterix 50 years anniversary book. And candles. And glass coasters(?) from Vietnam. Really pretty. The little guy made us a candle holder at school (A salsa jar covered in glitter, we now have glitter everywhere, lol) and the girl made us a calendar with pictures she drew herself.
Hubby and I are buying something together for the apartment after Xmas to give each other. Haven't decided what yet. We need a new bed and we really want a couch in front of the TV (we now only have two chairs which is inconvenient when the whole family wants to watch something) and also new shelves and stuff around the TV to make that area look a little more grown up and a little less college. So one of those things. We need the bed the most but it won't really be visible, you know, and I really want to renew the apartment a little. It sounds stupid but having something new to LOOK at is much more fun than just knowing you have something new. I don't know.
We're off to mom's in about an hour. Hardly time for a short nap. *looks longingly at bed*
* How typical is this? I tell hubby "I don't think I've ever been as stressed and busy before Christmas as this year" and he looks at me surprised and says "Really? I was just thinking how relaxed and easy going it's been." *rolls eyes*
