I will freely admit that I follow almost nothing of the actor's real lives except for the little bits that end up on my flist, but my assumption has been that Jared only bought the one house. I was imagining that the house had a finished basement with a bedroom in it, and that was where Jensen is sleeping, but I have no idea, this is just what's in my brain.

BASEMENTS *facepalm* I forget about basements because the water table here is too shallow for them. my original confusion was why Jared would give Jensen the first-floor master bedroom in his own home.

The first floor thing confused me too, mostly because of the dogs. Wouldn't it be easier to have them on a first floor so he could let them out into the yard whenever needed? So maybe Jensen is in the basement. Inquiring minds need to know!!

Yeah, I thought he'd bought a house but it seems weird to have bought a house that's big enough for both of them to have their own floor, which it kinda sounds like they do. Which is why I was wondering if he'd sold it and the network rented a house for them together. But I kinda like the idea of Jensen sleeping in Jared's basement. *g* Especially since that would explain why Jared is "upstairs" when I'd have thought he'd rather be able to let the dogs straight out into the garden whenever he felt like it.

It could of course be a two story house with bedrooms on both floors. *ponders*

I haven't actually seen the clip because youtube is being bitchy, but I read the quote, and I would guess there's a bedroom upstairs where Jared sleeps, and a bedroom downstairs where Jensen sleeps, and that's what he meant.

I haven't seen the clip either, just read quotes which so far aren't saying much more than "I live upstairs and Jensen lives downstairs." If Jensen is in the basement wouldn't he have said basement? I mean, like "Oh yeah, I let Jensen sleep in my basement. With the dogs." lol To me it kinda sounded like they divided the house so it was two apartments, one floor each, but I could very well be wrong about that.

Yes, me too! I was all 'They have a bodyguard? (I've heard different takes on the name, we kinda need to get the name straight, for ficcing purposes. *nods*) Who cleans and cooks? Kinda sounds like my hubby.' *snorts*

it might be a colloquial speech thing that's throwing you off. even though I've lived all over the US it's kind of hard for me to separate what is Texas-specific and what isn't, but I think...when he says Jensen "stays" downstairs and he "stays" upstairs, he just means that's where they sleep, and not that they remain on their own separate planes of existance, haha.

yeah! who'd have guessed. I mean, I know they're pretty and people fangirl them but....dude, they're both huge and in good shape. I think they should be mocked. hahaa. what if it was like. Jensen's idea because he has had traumatic stalker experiences and Jared's all...PUSSY.

I bet it was Jensen and Jared's all "Are you saying I can't protect you? Have you seen me? I could benchpress Hulk Hogan!" and Jensen sighs and points out to him that "Dude, you're so nice to the fangirls they'd have me bagged and on a ship to China while you're still giving them autographs and telling them stories about my eyelashes. How's that for protection?"

I definitely don't think it's two separate apartments. Jared says cook like they share a kitchen, and then mentions that whenever one of them is tired or needs time alone they just kick each other out, which makes it sound like they do share a living room.

I'd guess that it's just a two story house with the master bedroom on the second floor and a guest bedroom on the first. That's how my house is set up. He also mentioned that Jensen is clean, and that wouldn't affect him if they were living in two separate apartments. I also think he would have said basement if it was actually the basement (and probably would have made a joke about it).

Yes, that's how I pictured it but then I read a quote that said something like "I live upstairs and Jensen lives downstairs" and that made me wonder if it was completely separate. Ugh, I need to find a transcript of that Q&A somewhere.

But yes, knowing Jared and how they always rib into each other I'd think that if Jensen was living in his basement Jared would make a total joke of it. *g*

I used to live in a townhouse where there were a number of us on a second story, and then a furnished basement below. The house was entirely connected, though, and the main kitchen was far more snazzy than the tiny one in the basement, so the entire ground floor was communal. I imagine that must be how it works- each of them can retreat to their space, but a good chunk of the house is shared space.

Sounds like it's actually Jared's house that they're sharing (see vid embedded above) which makes me think Jensen's actually in the spare bedroom downstairs and Jared has the master bedroom upstairs and then they share most of the house, like living room and kitchen and then have separate bathrooms with showers (but you know, sometimes there's not enough warm water... *g*).

Haha, to be a fly on their wall. Not that I'm a crazy stalker or anything... *coughs*
