What is the only thing better than gay cowboys?
GAY VIKINGS!! \o/
Ok, so only one gay viking that I could see (in action) but that doesn't mean there weren't many more!
We were at the Viking festival which is one of my favourite events of the year. I just love the dedication and all the work they put into it. And I absolutely adore the little kids in full gear, looking like they just stepped out of the sagas. The youngest I saw was maybe 2 months old at the most. And to walk around looking at all the things they're making and selling out of silver and wood and leather. The kids got small water flutes out off clay and the girl got to make her own pendant out of tin. And of course they own swords and shields made out of wood. And then there's the food, whole sheep being roasted over a spitfire, bread baked on stones, vegetable soup and of course beer. And for entertainment there's singing and dancing and shady people trying to get parents to sell their kids into slavery (lol) and games and of course fighting! In full viking gear and it's not some pussy fight either, they fight with swords and axes and shields and the noise from the weapons clanging and the guys (and one girl) yelling and roaring at each other is enough to make small children scream in fear.
So yeah, one of those battles had just ended and I was going to find a toilet when I saw one of them - still hot and sweaty from the fight with his sword in hand and shield on his arm - greet his boyfriend and then they disappeared into the crowd wrapped around each other. Cutest thing ever! Made me grin like an idiot until I found hubby again and could squee with him. To which he smiled and patted my hand. lol
Ok, gotta go. Meeting friends for some bbq, margaritas and mojitos.
Yes, I should be writing. But hey, it's Saturday and my first day of vacation. Chill. *g*
