So about a month ago my co-worker and I had this conversation:

Her: So... about this cataloguing conference...
Me: Huh?
Her: Shouldn't we go?
Me: I don't know, should we?
Her: I mean, everyone is going.
Me: Ok
Her: But I'm not going unless the school pays for it
Me: No, of course not
Her: *long rant about our boss not supporting us and how we are entitled to keep up with what is going on in our profession and it's what keeps us professionals and blahblahblah*
Me: *getting all geared up* Yes! Man, it's in our damn contract that we're supposed to do that!
Her: I know! He can't deny us that!
Me: No way!
Her: So we gonna tell him that?
Me: Yeah! *fist in air* He can't stop us!
Her: And he better pay for it!
Me: Dude, he better!
Us: *take an hour to compose an email explaining what the conference is about and that we want the school to pay for it* Ha!
Her: If he turns us down I'm gonna be so pissed.
Me: He better not turn us down.

Next day

Her: He said yes.
Me: He did? Uh... Of course he did! It's our right!
Her: Yeah!
Us: *smug smiles*
Me: So you do realise that means we have to sit listening to boring old women talk about cataloguing for two days?
Her:...
Me: *headdesk*
Her: We don't have to be there all the time, do we? I mean there's the cocktail and dinner... I was kinda aiming for that
Me: We can always sneak away for coffee...

I can hardly keep my head up but tomorrow and Friday will be spent listening to this. *dies of boredom* I mean, it's been paid for, 39.000 ISK each, so I kinda have to go.

Sometimes we're too stubborn for our own good. *headdeskheaddeskheaddesk*

Btw, I posted a Jsquared fic a little earlier. *pokes flist*

work, rl
