First, I want to thank all you interested parties reading this for your patience with me in supplying news about The Doors of Time since I pulled it down. Congrats on being shortlisted. That's awesome, even if you didn't end up in the first three. It's still a great achievement.

As for 'Now what', I suggest not giving up. :) The story is good and worth trying to find another agent or publishing company. So many great writers waited years over years to get published and recognised. :)

Of course it would have been nice if the agent would have told you where the story went wrong for her and what didn't grab her attention.

Have you tried giving the revised version to people to read who haven't read the fanfic version? Sometimes you as the writer can't always see what's amiss, since you're so deeply into your characters' heads that you think some things are obvious when they aren't to the reader. It might help to get a fresh eye on the story.

Another suggestion, check tumblr for any help. It doesn't just have the pretty, but also very helpful blogs, especially in the writing community. ;)

My favorite blog is:

http://fixyourwritinghabits.tumblr.com/

They do have tags about all kinds of stuff including publishing. But there are lots of other good blogs for that kind of stuff too.

Well, I wish you good luck and when the book gets published I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. :)
