Between flailing and freaking out with excitement, because we got it a day earlier than we expected, and feeling completely overwhelmed and freaking out about all we have left to do and precisely how little we know about how to do them, I'm completely exhausted.
Spent the day measuring every nook and cranny since there are no decent blueprints available, only of the original from 1930, which have changed a lot, and of the planned changes to the house from 1982 that never happened. Then our parents came over to check it out (and judge (inlaws) and come up with some horrible ideas (inlaws) and some pretty good ones (mum)) and then I had to go home and work a bit, which ended up taking so much longer than I planned. (Proofreading a translation that I swear she ran through Google translate, I ended up re-translating almost everything which is NOT what I signed up for, I would have charged a whole lot more if I had.)
And now finally I'm looking over the measurements of our furniture, trying to figure out if things fit where we want them to be and where we're gonna put those that don't.
So glad it's the weekend tomorrow. It's Reykjavik culture night but for once we're skipping it. After all, we have a whole new (very old) house to tend to! :)
Ps. Met the neighbours and their cats which seemed nice (neighbours) and were really cute and cuddly (cats). Turns out one of them was in the same class as my sister. Sometimes this country is way too small.
