(no subject)
Woohoo! I have a week off!
Assignment Week (which is supposed to be used for working on assignments but is usually spent partying and going on trips) is actually in the middle of October but then one of my teachers said he was gonna teach his classes that week because he's going abroad this week. And another class decided to take their break later. So that rather ruined mine and mr Felis's plans of getting away that week. :( But then another class was moved from Thursday until yesterday which means I have no classes Wednesday-Friday and I usually always have Monday off. So, no classes until next Tuesday. Of course it was too late for us to make new plans so our trip abroad (which mr Felis gave me for a 40th birthday LAST October *sighs*) will have to wait. Probably until next spring. :(
Still not sure where we're gonna go. I'd really love to go to Barcelona because I've never been there. But I would also love to go to Rome or Paris again. Especially Paris since the only time me and mr Felis have been there together it rained cats and dogs plus Notre Dame was covered in building material because they were fixing it for the Y2K. (As well as the rest of Europe. We were on a traintrip through Europe 1997 and half of our pictures are of famous buildings hidden behind green draped scaffolds. *sighs*)
Still, I just really wanted to go NOW while it's still warm somewhere because this summer was miserable and I really need to recharge my batteries. Seriously, it's been warmer some days this fall than it was in the summer. Nothing but grey skies and rain all summer, too cold and just damn miserable. The winter is so fucking long and when summer just doesn't come? You just get damn depressed. Hate years like this. Still remember the summer of 1992 as the summer of hell. I was staying up north and we wore winter overalls most of the summer with an average temperature below 5 C. Went to visit my dad in Sweden for one week and it was the only week in a summer of heatwaves that it rained. The whole fucking time. The following winter was the worst. Like I said, I need to reload my batteries, they're like solar cells, they don't run on that one charge forever. [/pathetic whining]
Uhm, this was supposed to be a happy post. Because I'm actually really happy about that week off. I just wish I could spend it soaking up sun somewhere not here.
