I'm planning a huge party for my birthday next month [ETA. I guess it's already this month.] since I'm turning the big Four O. Inviting pretty much everyone I know. Even if my birthday is on the 20th the party will most likely be on the 27th because my brother and his wife will be away and my sister will be working on the actual birthday weekend ( Read more... )

okay. I, too, have the rounded middle, skinny legs, broad shoulders conundrum. Halloween is awful for me.

I was a cheetah two years ago. I have a cheetah printed lightweight sweater that is tunic length, and with my slender legs, was able to pull off the black jersey leggings. With a cat ears headband, tail, and some creative face painting, I looked okay.

One year, I went as a stormy sky. Again, leggings, only this time, they were dark blue, I had a silver lame' tunic shirt, and I pinned little puffs of polyfill all over myself. Had stormy grey eye make-up, silvery blue lips, and a sparkly face paint.

You could be a bag of jelly beans. Take a clear - AND CLEAN - can liner or trash bag (our school uses really big clear ones) and cut leg holes or a waist hole in the bottom. Then, blow up several colored balloons and put them into the trash bag when you've got it on.

Then, as my besties' sister did one year, (she is also of the rounded middle plus sized ladies) you could go as Ursula the Sea Witch. Sherri, the bestie's sister, really pulled that one off, because, well, her personality was large and in charge like Ursula's.

My bestie dressed in a toga, complete with purple royal sash, gold garland headband and gold sandals. I have pics somewhere. She's more pear shaped, but when she dressed as the Roman aristocrat, she was pushing close to 300 lbs. But, like you, she has the great rack.

Hope that gives you some ideas. :)
