MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Dec 24, 2011 23:38

After a rather disastrous start which ended with me driving my poor cousin* home again after an hour and a half of him getting steadily worse from his cat allergy despite tons of antihistamine until he couldn't really breathe anymore and then being stuck alone in traffic as the clock struck 6 and Christmas officially started, I finally got home and we managed to have a pretty nice evening.

Yeah, over here Christmas starts on December 24th, so right now I'm sitting stuffed on the couch, surrounded by opened presents and trying to stay awake while the kids play with their toys. Well, I say kids... mr_felis is building Lego with our son, it's hard to see which one is more enthusiastic. lol

I got some neat things. PJ pants from mum, which I am already wearing, a pretty necklace from my best friend. Russel Brand's My Booky Wook from my cousin, a sweater from the inlaws, soap, chocolates, candles from other respective relatives. The little guy made a snowman at school and the girl made an angel. Hubby gave me a book to write my "masterpieces" in and wrote these amazingly romantic and loving words of encouragement on the two first pages that had me bawling even if they included lots of porny innuendos about battery operated needs among other things. How well he knows me. *loves him*

God, I'm so tired. We didn't go to bed until 3 am last night only to discover the cat had peed in our freshly made bed. WTF? She's never done that before. We had to wash everything but the bedcover still stinks, I'll have to let it soak in the pee-removing-stuff for a longer period of time. Anyway, I'm sleeping in tomorrow morning and then not doing anything other than email Xmas cards (if you want one please let me know here) until I have to be at mom's at 5:30 pm. Just chilling in my pjs and reading and eating goodies. *happy sigh*

* I felt so bad for him. He's all alone since he broke off with his girlfriend of 6 years earlier in the year. We're the only family he has since his mother died some years ago, and he'd been so happy we invited him over for Christmas. And then this happens. We made him take cold meat and leafbread home with him, and his presents of course. Then I called my sister on my way home, she lives 2 minutes away from him, and suggested maybe she'd try and step up for once. "But we only have 4 steaks." *rolls eyes* I said she could at least invite him over for dessert, which she did, but he was still feeling poorly, he said, although he was feeling quite good by the time I dropped him off. I'm worried he'd just been feeling too depressed to want to go anywhere. :(

presents, family, x-mas, mr felis
