Survey Results: The Show With the Strongest Online Fandom Is….

Surprise, surprise: Supernatural!

Go us! lol

Apparently they only featured current shows in case anyone was wondering. I'm wondering if maybe they also only featured American ones, otherwise I'm a bit surprised Doctor Who didn't make the list. And the Sherlock fandom is growing quite strong as well but it's obviously still very new.

Love the FF.net numbers:
#1 SPN: 47.000 fanfic
#2 Castle* 3.500 fanfic

And in all my years in fandom probably less than 1% of the fanfic I've read has been on FF.net. Imagine the numbers if they searched LJ!

I'm curious, what is Community? I've never even heard of this show and it's in fourth place. Anyone watching? Is it good?

It's interesting this connection between sci-fi and fandom. Almost all of those are either sci-fi or fantasy/supernatural or they have lead actors/actresses who used to be in those genres. Like she says, we are loyal fans. We'll give almost anything with our favourite actors/actresses/directors/writers at least a chance and sometimes that is all a show needs to build a fanbase: a chance. Only reason I started watching Hawaii Five-O was because James Marsters was in the first episode. Bones for David B. Castle for Nathan Fillion. Leverage for Chris Kane... Damn, Joss Whedon has a lot to answer for. lol I've stuck with them for other reasons as well but they are why I started watching in the first place.

*#2 in the survey overall, not on FF.net, I should clarify.
