So I get this Strike It Rich IX Sweepstakes entry in the mail today, and being an attorney, I naturally read the fine print on the back. Most of it is standard stuff: odds of winning, no purchase necessary, etc. But then I get to one sentence that made me have to read it twice and is completely puzzling, so maybe someone can shed some light on this. The sentence reads: IF SELECTED WINNER IS A CANADIAN RESIDENT, TO WIN, HE OR SHE MUST FIRST CORRECTLY ANSWER, UNAIDED, A TIME-LIMITED MATHEMATICAL SKILL TESTING QUESTION ADMINISTERED BY MAIL. Why do only Canadians have to do this? And how can one determine if someone answered the skill testing question unaided if it's being administered by mail? Anyone have a clue on this?
