trelali  gave me D!

Daredevil (Matt Murdock): Matt is awesome. A little crazy, has some serious women issues, and can be a total bastard sometimes. But he's awesome. I love Daredevil because he's a good but complicated man living a dangerous and complicated life, but dedicated to doing whatever he can to help the people of his city. And the writers aren't afraid to show how messed up that can be, sometimes... without turning Matt into someone the readers hate. (Most of the time, anyway.) There's a lot more I like about Matt but that sums most of it up.

Darkdevil (Reilly Tyne): Here's my take on Darkdevil - he's not the snarky sarcastic badass he appears to be. Don't get me wrong, he is a cool badass! I just think underneath that, he's only Reilly Tyne. The "orphan" who's been abused and turned into a monster by his family... and can't bring himself to tell the rest of them who he is. Which is tragic, because the Parkers would be family he needs, if only he could spit it out. Yeah, I also think Darkdevil really calls that whole "the happy ending for the Parkers where Ben's legacy lives on!" thing into question.

David: The Animorph I really wish had a book. I can't help but think the awesomeness of the David trilogy might've been even more so with some buildup, if it hadn't been telegraphed from book one that David was going to turn traitor. (Not that his betrayal wasn't really well done!) In short, I find David a fascinating character: a seriously messed up kid who is also quite a lot like the people he stabbed in the back, especially Rachel, Tobias and Marco. I really wish he was more popular in fandom.

Dawn: I get why Buffy fandom hates her. I totally do. She's annoying, shoehorned into the show for a kind of silly plotline, and just isn't quite as cool or empathetic as the rest of the Scoobies. I get it. But at the same time I really can't help but like Dawn. I guess her sister-bonding moments with Buffy just grew on me. When she's not being written as a brat, she can be pretty funny and thoughtful and brave... just like you'd expect Buffy's little sister to be. Like I wish she'd been more often.

Dios: I don't think I have anything insightful to say about Dios. I have always wondered about that last scene with him and Utena, though. Sometimes I think he means it when he says she couldn't possibly save Anthy but here's a kiss for her troubles... and sometimes I think he's intending to piss her off, so she'll get back up and save Anthy. I don't know. I guess I've just always thought that while Akio didn't really want Anthy's suffering to end, Dios did.
