I think both your entries are well thought out, and I guess I sort of feel the same from time to time with a few differences. I've made the decision to limit my Friends on Facebook a bit more (I think I'm at 70-something?). I use it to make short comments on what I'm up to or how I'm feeling, but nothing like I would say in my journal. And I don't feel the need to spam it with as many comments as some..

I also now have a twitter feed, which is what I am using for more interest/not friend stuff like music, running, etc. Because I don't really need all my interests cluttering my fb.

So I guess it's all about using various things as you want to use them. These social website do-dahs are supposed to work for us, not just the advertisers, after all! I probably wouldn't get rid of fb, even though I think this Timeline is very annoying and forced, because I do use the messaging service often for short communiques. Privacy is a bit of a concern, so I try not to put anything online anymore that I wouldn't be happy to say in the street. ;D
