As you may have read, Stoneface is working to put together a police force here in the Sphere. He does this with my full knowledge and support. For what it's worth, I trust his intentions and his abilities, and will be happy to work with him in the future to make the Sphere as safe as possible for all of us.
The Guard will return to being responsible for the Hatchery as well as serving as a defense force and helping with evacuations, as we were originally meant to.
I understand that some of the people currently under my command may see the new force as being better suited to their abilities and temperament. Know that you can resign with no hard feelings on my part.
I've been proud to work with you all, especially since most of you were not hired to serve as a peacekeeping force, but agreed to take on the extra responsibility out of a sense of duty towards your fellow residents who felt unsafe. Even with little thanks from those who demanded protection in the first place, you didn't falter, and worked like dogs in times of peace and times of crisis. Whether you stick with the Guard or join the Watch, I am confident you'll all continue to strive to keep your fellow residents safe in whatever way you can.
You've served admirably, and your service has never shamed me or yourselves. Thank you.
