Hi~ This is where you can contact me with any concerns about my portrayal of Yoruichi/Bastet. Playing a character with memory loss can be tricky, and the longer I have her here without her memories, the less canon reference I have

This is actually something I've been planning to do with her for a while--I headcanon that she and Urahara occasionally get high, because the easy, laidback vibe of smoking marijuana is something that, in my opinion, suits them both. Now, this is certainly not something that I expect her to do a lot; I see it as an occasional activity to help her relax. I also picked it as opposed to drinking because a heatwave was forecast for the day the log is set, and alcohol tends to warm people up, which is the last thing she'd want in this kind of weather.
Personally, I don't see much difference between drinking to deal with stress and smoking marijuana to deal with stress, which is why I feel I can have her do either. I suppose if one saw marijuana use as being more serious than alcohol use, then I can see how they might find the smoking to be pushing the bounds of ICness, while drinking would be more appropriate.
As far as having her train to get out her aggressions or drink to drown out her sorrows, I've done both already, a few times, and wanted to try something different. I knew when posting this that it was risky, and may either offend or confuse a few people, but I suppose it simply boils down to the way I see the character--to me, she's free-spirited enough not to have a problem with the concept, but I fully accept that others may not see her the same way.
And I certainly don't feel like you're trying to tell me how to play her. Thanks for commenting, and I hope this helps clear things up, at least a little.
Marijuana is the least of anyone's worries; there's worse junk out there! Alcoholism can be a serious and scary thing and, in my opinion, never played out too well in fiction anyway. I apologize for picking your brain, but thank you for letting me in on your line of thinking. It clears up my confusion and I'm interested to see how things go from here.
Yeah, I rarely see it written out well, and it's personally not an area I want to explore with her. XD She has enough issues, I think, and as she's always come across as one of the more emotionally healthy/stable characters in Bleach, I'd like to stay true to that as I play her out.
As far as how it goes from here, I don't anticipate this being a huge plot point or thing that she's known for--it might be alluded to from time to time in the future, but I'd rather not run it into the ground. XD And no apologies needed--I'm glad I was able to clarify.
Yeah, her life kinda sucks. XD But she's still chugging along, anon, and will until I can't manage her anymore. But she would appreciate the sentiment!(even as she shrugged it off XD)
