I probably should have done this earlier, given all the new arrivals. Welcome to Edensphere--my name is Bastet, and I'm the current Guard Captain. Despite rumors, I don't rule here, eat babies or keep men tied up in a secret dungeon beneath the Hatchery.
Our responsibilities are to guard the Hatchery and make sure newborns get safely to temporary housing. We also, along with the Adventurers, serve as a defense force, help coordinate evacuations, and keep the peace as best we can.
You've no doubt already noticed, but the surreal is fairly commonplace here. I won't say it ever stops being strange, but you can learn to better deal with it in time.
