[When the feed comes on, there is video attached, but it is dark. There is a soft meow, and Oliver's voice is heard.]
No, you need to stay up there for a minute, okay?
[As he speaks, the view suddenly brightens, and one can see Oliver holding Next (the kitten) in one hand, setting her on the pillow of the bed in his old room at Murrue's. He puts the PCD down, too, where there is a view of the room behind him, though he doesn't seem aware the cat accidentally turned it on.]
There. Now, let me finish, okay?
[Oliver steps back, and the kitten bounds to the edge of the bed, watching. Oliver bends down and does something to something on the floor, then stands. He lifts his foot and brings it down, hard, and there's the sound of something cracking and breaking. A moment later, he picks up a violin bow and in a sharp movement, snaps it over his leg by swinging it into his thigh as hard as he can. He doesn't even flinch. Dropping the bow, he kneels again. A few moments later, he stands up with a closed violin case. He puts that down on the end of the bed, and scoops up the cat, sitting where she had been standing.]
I know, you liked the violin, didn't you? Well, I had to, okay? OH, don't look at me like Ow! You claws are sharp, you know. Well. Look, see that? Blood. What you you have to say for yourself.
[A soft mewling.]
Oh, fine. I forgive you.
[For a time, all you can see is his back as he plays with the kitten in his lap. Then, a soft breath.]
Fine, fine, I'll go ask him to fix it. I'm sorry, okay? No more claws. Now, where's the PCD?
[He looks around for a while, and finally finds it. He grabs it and pulls it towards him, until the view is looking up at him, with the cat peering over the edge curiously. After a moment, he looks surprised, then shakes his head.]
Bugger. Hey, Al. Think I could ask a favour or something?
And, er. Murrue, Jotaro, whoever else. Don't suppose maybe I could, y'know. Stay for dinner or...or something? Maybe? Wyatt, too, if he wants?
