Officer Cari Morris of the California Highway Patrol had accepted Professor Charlie Eppes' offer to go over the math for the reconstruction together because something had been puzzling her about it, but also because she'd hoped to get a chance to do more than talk about numbers with him. He was very cute, after all, with that hopeless mop of curls and crooked nose. So, when he walked her to her car and he expressed a wish to vanish, she offered him the opportunity. It was an opportunity for both of them, in the end. One they happily enjoyed together.
