I like the background you've given Hollom and I sympathise entirely with his unease at sea. Poor lamb - a much more tragic figure in the film than in the book.

Thanks, I wanted to give a reason for him being in the service that wasn't the same as everyone else's. Given what we're shown of him in the movie, it's easy to see how he could have been forced into the career.
