It ended up being over 35k instead. *headdesk* I don't remember exactly what inspired this AU, but it was originally a high school AU. As I started brainstorming, I realized it would work better as a college AU. Then it pretty much took over my writing life. That was back on April 14th. A month and a half later of fairly steady writing, it's done.
