Jeff and I have been doing some major, and much needed, cleaning of our house - it *almost* sparkles (dang those stubborn stains on that whiter-than -white carpet!) ><
*and now for something completely different*
I bought a book called
"The Artist's Way" awhile back. This is a very inspirational book, that assists those who would like to become more artistic/creative. I've read the book through a few times, and while very inspiring, I've been too lazy to actually do the exercise. Well, it's a new year, and a perfect time to start making positive changes! So *This* time I'm going to actually follow through and DO the exercises.
This book really *spoke* to me in the sense that I've always wanted to be able to call myself an artist and not feel like I'm lying. I'd like to be able to stop thinking I need to be in some special *mood* to draw (and of course days go by and no *mood* seems "special" enough to go ahead and give myself permission to go ahead and doodle, experiment, sketch. draw....)
Whenever I talk about drawing/artwork to someone, I can feel the excitement in my voice. When, on the rare occasion, I do actually sit down and draw, it is such a calming feeling.... anxiety melts away. One person I chat with on
IRC said that drawing or painting was like meditation for her.... I can understand that. But yet *something* always gets in the way whenever I want to draw.
So along with my Japanese progress, I'll be posting my Artist's Way progress.

I believe I will be FINALLY going back to school in 2008! My Dad was kind enough to take a day off work in November to take me to the
UIC Art and Design Department Open House. (Thanks Dad, SO MUCH!) I'm currently in the process of drafting my personal statement for the application. Once I get the application and transcripts from my previous schools sent, it will be time to SAVE FOR A CAR! =^_^=

We could see the almost-full moon from our bedroom window this afternoon. During Daylight! How cool! The good thing about January - the days get longer and longer.
