A.N.: I was slightly unsure of this, as it's different from my other fics, hope my angst is angsty enough. Enjoy! <3
Aiba couldn’t quite but his finger on what was bothering him. Well, he probably could but the truth was he didn’t want to think about the thing that was bothering him at the moment.
Sighing, he lifted up his head and stared across the room at the others who were rehearsing for their upcoming concert. It was supposed to be rehearsal but somewhere along the lines it had turned into plain mucking around. Nino had wrestled Sho to the floor and pinned his arms down, their legs both in a tangled heap while Ohno and Jun looked on amused.
In actual fact, this is what had been bothering him. The fact that Nino and Sho seemed to be getting so close, Aiba couldn’t quite figure it out but they were indeed getting closer as each day went by it seemed. They would always stand so close together as if they were joined to the hip, always hugging in a way that could be seen as though there was something more between them. But the thing that got Aiba the most was that Sho’s face always seemed to brighten whenever Nino was around. Aiba could remember a time where he’d always been the one who had made Sho’s face light up like that and now Aiba got the feeling that he was being replaced ever so slightly.
Sho had also been working a lot recently on Zero which meant that he hadn’t been spending a whole lot of time with him and that made Aiba feel even more lonely. In the past, Sho had always made excuses to spend time with Aiba wanting to spend every minute of the day with him. Aiba guessed this had changed now, maybe he was too busy or maybe he just didn’t want to make excuses anymore.
Aiba was probably over reacting and being paranoid, part of him knew that but still he couldn’t help thinking it. Realising that he couldn’t deal with this right now, he stepped outside for some fresh air.

Leaning against the wall, Aiba closed his eyes feeling the cool breeze on his face, listening to the sounds of the trees rustling in the wind, trying somehow to make his mind relax. Until he felt a presence by his side and Sho’s voice making him jump.
‘You ok?’
‘Mmm.’ Aiba muttered his head down.
‘Really? You don’t seem it. Is there something bothering you?’
Aiba wasn’t sure what was best. Whether he should confront Sho about this or just let it rest. Although it was driving him mad and he felt that he just needed to talk to him. What kind of relationship is it, where you can’t talk to your lover about one simple thing?
Aiba looked up at Sho. ‘Actually there is something bothering me at the moment.’
Sho titled his head to the side, inquisitively. ‘What is it?’
Aiba sighed. ‘Well I’m not quite sure how to say this but, is there something going on between you and Kazunari?’
Sho spluttered. ‘N-No, what on earth would make you think that?’
‘I…I don’t know. You two just seem to be very close that’s all and you also seem to be spending far more time with him than me at the moment.’
Sho frowned. ‘Aiba, that’s complete nonsense. We’re just friends that’s all and I’m surprised you think so little of me that I would do something like that.’
Aiba started to speak ‘B-b-’
Sho interrupted him before he could continue, ‘I don’t want to continue this stupid discussion Aiba, now if you don’t mind I need to go back and finish rehearsing’ And with that he stormed back inside.
Aiba noticed that Sho had tried to finish the discussion as quickly as he could, as if he was hiding something, exactly as Aiba had suspected.

This was not how he had wanted to spend his Saturday evening Aiba thought as he sat watching Sho and the others get steadily more and more drunk. Normally Aiba would have passed out already what with him being notorious for drinking the most but tonight he wasn’t in the mood.
Sitting with all four round a small table in the smoky, noisy and crowded bar Aiba wanted more than anything to be at home and as he watched Nino wrap his arm around Sho’s waist, whisper something in Sho’s ear and Sho burst into his stupid giggly laugh, then saw Jun with his arm round Ohno, Aiba realised he’d never felt so alone.
Aiba sighed. ‘Sho, I really think you should stop drinking so much.’
Sho stared at Aiba. ‘Why? Who are you anyway? My mother?’ Sho was beginning to slur more and more while Nino continued to giggle.
Aiba decided it was no use and didn’t say anything more letting both Nino and Sho stand up.
‘We’re going out for a smoke.’ Aiba watched them leave the bar and wanted to get up and stop them but knew they would have gone anyway.
Turning back to Ohno and Jun who were telling each other extremely bad fishing jokes and deciding that he didn’t particularly want to listen to them, Aiba got up and went to join Nino and Sho.
Stepping out into the cold night air, Aiba shivered as he felt the chill of the air and looked around for them.
Aiba froze upon seeing Sho shoved up against the wall by Nino who had his tongue down Sho’s throat and was running his fingers through Sho’s hair, gripping him tightly.
Having seen enough, Aiba turned around and walked off leaving the bar behind and heading home. He heard Sho shouting for him to wait realising he’d been caught out and heard him hurriedly try and catch up with Aiba. But Aiba didn’t stop and had already disappeared from sight.

Aiba sat in his room, ignoring his mobile phone, it was about the millionth call from Sho but Aiba was too angry to speak to him, it would have to wait. He had about a million answer phone messages too, but as soon as he’d listened to one he knew they’d all be the same, just Sho drunkenly proclaiming his innocence and his love. Aiba knew he wouldn’t be able to take anything Sho said now seriously, it was 3 in the morning and Sho was probably still drunk.
Aiba could have tried sleeping but he didn’t think he’d be able to. There were too many thoughts in his head, all mixed up and confused. Yes Sho had been drunk, but still how could he even think of doing it? And how did Aiba know it was a one-off? How many times had it happened before? Could Aiba even trust Sho anymore? His brain was working overtime and Aiba finally decided to at least try and sleep, he’d need energy to deal with Sho tomorrow.

Aiba opened the door to a weary, tired and wrecked looking Sho.
‘Hey, god I feel awful, must have drank too much last night’ Sho laughed nervously.
Aiba wasn’t laughing and leaned against the doorframe, arms folded. ‘Yeah you did.’
‘Yeah I wanted to talk to you about last night, listen I’m sorry it was a kind of stupid mistake.’ Sho scratched his head as though he was trying really hard to think.
‘That’s all you’ve got to say for yourself is it? Sorry?’
‘Yeah, well I was drunk and I didn’t think…it won’t happen again.’ Sho smiled apologetically.
‘Do you know how much sleep I got last night, staying up worrying about this? I don’t think you realise how hurtful what you did was.’ Aiba’s voice trembled, either on the verge on tears or on the verge of screaming at him.
‘Aiba, would you mind not doing this on the street? Can I at least come in?’ Sho pleaded.
Aiba stepped to one side. ‘Fine, seeing as what I have to say won’t take long anyway.’
Stepping into Aiba’s apartment warily, Sho sighed. ‘Look, can we just forget this and move on? I’ve already apologised.’
‘I think we obviously both need a little space and time to think Sho, and you clearly have eyes for someone else.’ Aiba felt tears well up in his own eyes as he realised that this would mean that it was over.
‘How could you even think tha-?’
‘Sho, frankly I’m too tired to argue with you anymore, I need to be alone.’ Aiba looked over at Sho, who was staring at him longingly. Half of him wanted to throw his arms around Sho and forgive him, letting things go back to the way they were. But the other half of him was still so furious that he couldn’t stand it.
Sho just quietly told him that he understood and left. As he closed the door, Aiba felt his hard exterior leave him and his warm tears started to slowly fall down his face.
Aiba sat down, crying quietly and let his feelings take a hold of him.
