So yeah. Today was supposed to be fun. And then Jenna's brother hit my car like an asshole and put a nice dent in the bumper. That's about it because I left after that because I was so pissed ( Read more... )

Jess,
I'm really sorry about what happened today. I didn't know what to think when you had taken the hit on your car so seriously. I didn't see it first hand, so I can't say anything. I wasn't treating you like a taxicab. I think you're a great girl, and I wanted to hang out with you. You were driving us, as a favor and it seemed as if we were taking that for granted. Yes, we should have called, but I didn't know what you would say. I don't want to be in an argument with you, because I think it would be a big waste of our lifetimes, and I want to be able to actually hang out with you. Please, email me? AcousticOdyssey@aol.com.

dude, i definitely know how you feel about being a taxi cab...i actually ask for gas money sometimes, and people still don't give it to me, then expect me to pay as much for dinner as they do...seriously, try this...when you go out to dinner or something, just tell them straight out you're not putting in as much to compensate for driving. they can't really refuse that. anyway, i also hear ya on the people using you thing. i'm in my second year of college, and i have to tell you, it's still really hard to tell who your real friends are sometimes. it does get easier in college though. not too much longer! hang in there!

aww...jess..i'm sorry things didn't go well for you...and not to sound like a bitch or anything, but this is my take on the car stuff...if someone OFFERS to drive, that gives them less of a right to ask for gas money, because they were the ones who said that they would drive...if you're asking for a ride all the time from someone, then yes, you should give them gas money, but if you don't ask, and they give you a ride because they WANT to, they can't bitch about gas money...and i mean, it's a little different when you're the only one with a car (and yes, if you are, people should give you gas money, no matter what), but when a lot of people have cars, you can only ask for money if your friends are asking you to bring them places...like...my friends will sometimes drive when we go out, but i don't usually give them gas money, because sometimes i drive instead of them...if you're reciprocating, then you shouldn't ask for money...cause i mean, when i drive, i don't ask for money, so i don't expect them to ask for money a lot when they ( ... )
