Phew! Today was a very tiring day (I’m wearing heels and barely sit down for around 6 hours) but definitely was one of the best day in my life! This Anisong Stage was my first concert I attended so I’m kinda amazed by how awesome it was to watch the performance live. Now I understand why people trying desperately to save their money just for a concert ticket for their beloved artist. Live concert is awesome!
About the AFAID itself, AFA stands for Anime Festival Asia. And since it held in Indonesia for this year so the name becomes AFAID (Anime Festival Asia Indonesia). The Festival itself consists of 2 major events, exhibition and stage, which in exhibition you can see and buy various anime/manga merchandise from various store and in stage you can watch cosplay and of course, Anisong Concert.
They had 2 days for the concert, with different artist every day. I attended the second one, with Sea☆A, angela, STEREOPONY and KOTOKO as the artist-in-line.
The gate opened at 6.30 p.m and I was arrived late at the concert. I hopped there around 7.30 to see Sea☆A has begun already and they left the stage later after 2 songs. I honestly never saw Sea☆A before, they are very cute! (They’re 4 girls unit from Moe Moe Kyun café so no wonder they’re very cute). Around 20 minutes passed for the staff to re-arrange the stage and angela appeared!!
They rock the stage with Shangri-La and Separation as one of their song list. I can’t remember any other songs they sung but they did 5/6 songs. atsuko was awesome and KATSU was just very cool on stage! They even did some voice acting and that was very enjoyable. angela left a very special scene in my heart, as for me they’re the artist whom made the most interaction with the audience, not to mention they’re very funny! They spoke in Bahasa, English and Japanese. After back with Soukyuu no Fafner soundtrack, they left the stage but back when the audience asked them to perform the encore. They sung Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis and the audience went hype as the song is one of the legendary one in Indonesia. I remember they did sing another one song that’s really popular in Indonesia but I can’t recall it.
After that is STEREOPONY. They wear all-black clothes and sung some of their anime songs hit including Namida no Mukou, Hitohira no Hanabira, Tsukiakari no Michishirube and Stand By Me. What made them special was, when they sang the song, the anime clip of the songs were displayed on the screen so it felt like watching the anime while listening to the song, live (but they didn’t show the clip when they played Hitohira no Hanabira). They also sung other songs beside anime soundtrack but I don’t know what the titles were. All members of STEREOPONY were awesome, as they played and sung their songs with energy. I can saw them sweating a lot and Shiho did say “atsui” (while wiping her sweat and trying hard to speak LOL).
The last artist was KOTOKO and I could say she’s the best of that night. She wore black clothes with green sleeve, made her looks like Hatsune Miku (for me). She sung many songs from Shakugan no Shana. Light My Fire and Being became 2 first songs and she greet the audience with Bahasa (almost all performer could greet in Bahasa except Sea☆A, since I didn’t saw them performing that much), which amuse me on how cute her speaking was. She spoke for a while before continuing with Loop-The-Loop, Sociometry, Blaze, Love a Riddle (or Shooting Star, I forgot which one) and many others which I can’t remember all them since she brought many songs tonight and exactly the performer who sung the most songs tonight. She had her stage wonderful; I thought her stage lightning was the best among all and she sung 2/3 songs in a row, made me stare in awe at her. She jumped here and there, shouted excitedly at the audience and even talked about her activity in Indonesia, including shopping in SOGO, bought mango, mangosteen and papaya (she said she loves fruit) and even tried nasi goring (yes, she said ‘nasi goreng’, made the audience cheered happily LOL). After an-album-like songs, she finally said this would be her last song and the audience murmured 8D But we didn’t want to come back home yet so we shout “encore” loudly (the loudest encore I heard from the entire concert) and she was back! YAY! She sung Hayate no Gotoku! as encore. I went home in the middle of the song, afraid of getting traffic when I went outside the building so I didn’t know if she sung another more but she did say it was her very last song.
After all, I felt very very happy. I never attended any Anisong Concert (and it was the first one held here) so it was kind of happy when you could share your loved songs with the other people. Cheering on the artist together, singing together, even shouting together was a very special moment for me and I really hope for another Anisong event next year. Sharing is always the best!
