SPN - 8.17

I know I say this a lot, but . . .

What the frell am I supposed to do with that?

First blush impressions:

I really, really don't like what they do with angels in this story. Really.

Dean sorting through the MoL weaponry. \o/ Color me surprised, not in the least. I knew that's where his interests and expertise would fall. Said it from the very first. Geo and I were both rather amused by the "Voluptuous Asian Lovelies," and that Dean knows how much they go for on eBay.

Curious, though, as to what was in the Faberge egg he took a whiff from.

Really, Meg? You think the fact that Sam wants a normal life is a well-hidden secret? Seriously?

Meg stabs Crowley! Crowley kills Meg! *flailyarms of unexpectedness!*

Dean has the power to break one angel's mental connection to another. Aside from God, Dean is the most powerful being in the universe. (The SPN universe, anyway.)

There was one point, when Castiel was acting all shifty, and later beating Dean to a bloody pulp, that I really was kind of wanting Benny to show up and back Dean up. Because Dean really needs someone who isn't going to lie to him. And thus far, Benny seems the only one of Dean's comrades in arms that fits the bill. *sigh*

Dean quotes Lord of the Rings. Heh. Still, I have a feeling that in "carrying Sam," a lot of the burden of the trials is actually going to fall on Dean. And now that I think about it, perhaps that is the actual trial. (Kevin's only working from half a tablet, remember.)

This ep did, however, remind me how easy Jensen is to watch, and that I've missed having the Brothers Winchester on my TV screen.

DVR cut off before it recorded the previews for next week. Drat.
