Okay, this might well be done to death and cliched (I don't follow the Spuffy oeuvre assiduously), but what about a Season 1 Spuffy tale? After all, mightn't Spike show up to see what's up with the Harvest?

That's a tricky one. Stories featuring a Season 1 Spike often "fixes" canon by having Spike replace Angel as Buffy's first, and I have mixed feelings about that (mainly the whole Romance genre's obsession with the girl's -- but not the guy's -- virginity, the "first time" tropes, etc.). But the idea of shifting some of the canon timeline is a very promising one. Thanks!

I understand your reservations. *sighs at own folly* Still, glad it at least works in some measure for you.

Oh, don't worry about it. It's not impossible to do well, but definitely a bit challenging. :)

I'd be tempted to have a time traveling Spike show up. If he changes things, Buffy won't become the woman he loves, but can he resist? And if she meets him in season one as an ally, what happens when his earlier self shows up and wants to kill her? I'd have him there for a while but aware that it's temporary.

Oh, I love time-traveling stories! That's indeed present a dilemma for Spike. Nice prompt. Thanks!
