Taking back my LJ from the surprise invasion of emotional posts about minor RL illnesses, of which I've written waaaay too many (and it's only November, dammit; the cold & flu season doesn't really kick into gear until after the holidays), I do declare that this post is dedicated to fanfiction and fanfiction only. Let's see, then...
Seasonal Spuffy
I can only say I was extremely relieved to have made my seasonal-spuffy posting day with an Edge of Sorrow, Heart of Truth ficlet, titled, as a bit of wishful thinking while I was scrambling to post, "Relief". If you thought I wouldn't be able to shoehorn NC-17 Spuffy into a timeline that overlaps with a confused, traumatized, recovering, just-post-resurrection S6 Buffy, you'd be wrong. ;) It's heavy on the Spike-lovin', but can you really blame me? BTW, no prior knowledge of Edge of Sorrow necessary (though obviously appreciated: AO3, EF, LJ). So head on over to seasonal-spuffy for a bit of relief for your Spuffy urges. :)
The 32nd SunnyD Memorial Awards
Congrats to all the winners! With all the RL mess going on, I'd thoroughly forgotten everything about awards and such. So it was a pleasant surprise to receive an email announcement of SunnyD winners on a recuperating day during a shut-in weekend, and see the following:
"Wishbone" (Spike & Dawn, Rated G, 900 words), the little ficlet that could, was inspired by a sb_fag_ends prompt of the same name, so kudos to the mods for the wonderful inspiration! And thank you to whoever nominated me and anyone who voted!
Noel of Spike
Last but not least, sign-ups are open for Noel_of_Spike. Thoroughly tempted; very much on the fence. Hurdle #1: I've never participated before and have no idea what I'd even write that'd fit the holiday theme. Hurdle #2: After all the sound and fury over making the deadline for seasonal-spuffy, I think I'm justified in being cautious about fic commitments. My RL requires a wide margin for error.
