The orgasmic vampire bite so often found in Buffyverse fanfiction--if you don't know what I'm referring to, Buffy and Spike are only too happy (in the hands of certain writers) to, ahem, illustrate (in NC-17 fashion, should there be any doubt):

Buffy and Spike illustrate the orgasmic vampire bite... )
The movie was the first Buffy I saw, back when it first came out. It sounded so perfect! And it really, really wasn't. It might be worth a look, once, just to be a completeist. There are occasionally things that come up in stories that refer back to that. One character, not Buffy, is sometimes used to good effect. It will definitely make you appreciate the show that much more. (And I don't think Buffy actually burns down the gym in the movie. That was a retcon to get her out of LA, I guess.)

OMG so true!!! I've never figured out why that's such a turn-on for me, but I absolutely love it (this thread has turned into quite an interesting one for all the unusual kinks that have earned a mention here). I can see it in my head. The way that Spike clears his head, closes his eyes, and concentrates with the scenting...then opens his eyes with such a sense of clarity and turns left. No question. No hesitation. Gaaah!!! Why is it such a hawt scene? :P

Allow me to illustrate the answer that question with a short fic: Mystery Date

Well, I think a lot of people in the fandom realize that fictional sex with vampires ought to be depicted as different from fictional sex with humans, or else what's the point? There are a whole host of these differences - orgasmic bite, 5-hours-straight endurance, room temperature body heat, enhanced demon senses and demon lack of inhibitions - that can come into play. Good writers will have wrestled with these. Even writers like me who rarely write extended explicit sex scenes will need to have those differences in the back of the mind to make it all work. Kinky? Probably not so much to the vampires in question...

I've only written a couple of NC-17 Spuffy scenes so far, but both of my WIPs will call for sex scenes where they're headed, which I'm dreading as a writer (because sex scenes are hard to get right and I want to do Spike and Buffy justice) and looking forward to as a fan. :)

Yes (Yes! Yes!) on all accounts, maybe even bitey sex, demon physiology (longer, rougher tongue?), and the fact that Spike doesn't need to breathe, but I feel like the orgasmic bite is rather icing on the cake. I mean, when our favorite power couple gets it on, there's no question of orgasms galore. Does the bite really need to be a direct shortcut to the finish line? I'd like to take my time, ahem, I mean as a writer, that is. ;)
