He was for a little while, but then he started helping Ian with some of the mechanical work. Then a short while after that, Ian was hurt and told him to pilot the 0 Raiser, a complimentary unit to the 00 Gundam. It can help stabilize the Twin Drive system and boost the GN Particle output when the 00 Gundam uses its Trans Am System... [insert another minute or two of techno-babble about the 0 Raiser, its connection with the 00 Gundam to make the 00 Raiser, and the purpose Saji serves with it here... and then she realizes she may have gotten a bit carried away]

Oh... sorry. You haven't picked up the 0 Raiser yet so I thought I'd explain it....
