On Thursday, we were set to go to the MoCo library to have a tour of it and stuff and be shown how to use their research materials, etc. Well, I go straight to the library, we're all arguing about how our crazy fucking professor wanted this assignment done, the hilarious and witty librarian guy was like "I don't think that's going to matter in a bit, so shut up." He goes over all the research stuff, we go on a tour, get library cards, etc. Then this professor who had come in goes up and starts talking to us. "I'm the chair of the English department, and I wanted to apologize for this, but I got a call last night saying Pat can no longer teach this course." So, my original professor went crazy or senile or realized she couldn't teach the rest of the course in the first week of class. How wonderful.
This new professor would be good and all, she has 25 years teaching experience (at MoCo, that's a significant amount) and such, but the problem is she was not originally scheduled to teach the first summer session, so she has a week in June where she is doing some thing for Phi Theta Kappa, and somehow we're going to have to make up those 8 hours of class time. Either by doing them online, or coming in on a few Fridays during the semester, or something. I don't know, but we argued about it for like an hour. I am a little saddened though, because I don't think our original professor was planning on teaching drama or poetry, just short stories... but this one is. Stupid poetry.
I then worked the night shift that night, and besides being yelled at by some stupid fucking old man for not turning on the gas pump, I was also accused of being a thief. I knew the guy was just trying to get money from me, but it actually rather offended me. Fuck these scumbags in The Woodlands, goddamn white trash/illegal Mexicans/arrogant rich whitebread assholes.
Classes are going okay besides the aforementioned professor switch; it is a little stressful trying to do a semester's worth of work in 6 weeks, but I think I will manage. The only problem is I'm working all the fucking time. I want to quit but at the same time I really am going to need the money for next year, so I have to at least hang around until the end of this month. I did ask off for Lisa's wedding yesterday though, Woot woot woot, that's going to be a blast.
I'm doing this "Artist's Way" 12-week program thing that my mom lent to me, and it is pretty out there. Part of it involves waking up every day and writing 3 pages worth of stream-of-consciousness babble. That's not very fun, but it is helping me get into a good "waking up" habit, I think. If I keep this going well after the 12 weeks like it is suggested, I think it'll help me make sure to get my ass up in the mornings for class next year. Plus, I'm sure if I sleep in Mabeuf will teabag me, so there's that.
That's all I got for now. Work in an hour, again, as usual, so I should get ready on that and such.
