Let's see, what's happened in the past week.... nothing much. Some shitty days at work, since one of my co-workers quit last week... I am working more hours this week, even though we got a replacement full-time lady from another store, who is a crazy bitch. My manager has been sick for awhile, so another manager came and did our schedule, so he gave me more hours for no real reason. But hey, fine by me I guess. Friday I had a magnificently shitty day - I woke up, lost the rest of my free monies on Party Poker, got a letter from the Delts letting me know I was suspended, and then I had to work the graveyard shift by myself, when I'd never worked it before. So that was exciting, especially when I dropped a container of hot cocoa powder all over the floor. The only good thing that happened on Friday was Heather drove out here and we hung out for a few hours before I had to work. Since I hadn't seen her in like a month and a half, or seen anybody period in far too long, that was good.
That lack of socializing was solved yesterday though, as I drove downtown to play in a nicely-sized Texas Hold'em tournament. Hung claimed like 150 people would be there, but it was only like 60. Driving down 45 I got stopped by an accident, and then I got lost in Houston, so I was like 30 minutes late and paid for parking because I was like "shit I'm late omg" but then I get in and they hadn't even started. Cody could not stop laughing at the fact that I paid for parking. Anyway, our regular group of players was in full force - Randy, me, Ryan, Vance, Cody, Brandon, Hater, Curry, Donny, Danny Strat.. plus Hung was there helping run the thing. Outside of our group of players though, there were maybe 2 other white guys. So that was fun, we were overwhelmed by the Asian population of U of H, but there were some hot Asian girls there, so that was cool.
As far as actual playing goes... I busted out first of our group, go figure; I was like 8th or 9th I guess to bust out of the tournament overall. I think Hater was next, then Vance, then Brandon... Dan and Curry were somewhere in there after that, followed by Cody and Ryan. Curry lost by going all in with Queens versus 9s, I know that much. Randy was on a rush, and had a huge chipstack when it was down to two tables - at this point me, Cody and Dan went to try and find fast food in Chinatown, with me driving - BIG MISTAKE. So like 45 minutes later, we get back, and it is down to the final table and Randy had busted. And about 2 minutes after we got there, Donny busted... just out of the prizes. So that was it for our group. After that we went to Brandon's apartment and played some more, I lost some money but had a wonderfully entertaining evening.
