Ups and Downs
A few things to discuss. First up, I decided to continue my worldwide beer tour by buying a 6-pack of LaBatt Blue earlier this week, on the advice of Napper. I have to say I'm quite pleased with this Canadian brew - nothing amazingly interesting with the flavor or anything, but it is incredibly smooth and has like no aftertaste.
Second, Tuesday night Anne and Noah randomly decided to drive out here from New Orleans, which was awesome. We did some stuff and went to Denny's, which was a very silly time. Then yesterday we watched Hellboy, went to China Bear (roughly the largest Chinese buffett IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD), then they dropped me off at work and got on the road home. But once I got to work there was bad news to be found.
There were two things I was hoping to get to do this weekend. The Say Anything concert at Javajazz on Friday, which I've known about for awhile, and going to Austin on Saturday to visit with Travis, Sarah, Gerry, and other family members. This latter plan kind of came about randomly earlier in the week, but I was hoping I would get lucky and get Saturday off in addition to the Friday I asked for off two weeks ago. Well, the schedule for this upcoming week was up last night, and instead of giving me Friday off, she specifically scheduled me Friday night - which was what I had asked for off. Also, I have Saturday off, so I COULD go to Austin..... but wait, I have to work at 5am on Sunday. And my dad is wanting to leave on Friday now. So waking up early, driving 3 hours each way in order to come home and work at 5am the next day? I'd rather not.
Stupid having a job.
