A shaky start ...

Ahem. Well. So, are we all sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin ...

It feels weird, my first step into the world of social networks, I've been trying hard enough to stay out of it, but here I am. It all started when I became reintroduced to slashworld by my love; she discovered Negative via a Lord Of The Rings fandom of all things. This was only a few months ago, and since then our record collection has been considerably enlarged by the complete Negative catalogue and a choice of Reflexion, Bloodpit and 69 Eyes albums. Well, some of the 69 Eyes records were there long before. Amazing that it took me that long to discover the Finnish scene, considering my Gothic roots.

Anyway, things have gotten well out of hand. Next week, we'll be going to Helsinki to see Negative at Nosturi. And since I read yesterday that Jann Wilde will be playing Tammerfest as I hoped he would, this calls for another trip to the North in summer.

But the real reason I am here is that I've been back to writing slash - it's been some years since I last did, and then it was strictly confined to fictional characters. Now I've been doing fan fiction for as long as I can remember, it has always been a part of my life, but I used to do this as some sort of storyteller to friends, hardly ever wrote it down and had my reservations about publishing it for all the world to see, including the real people in question. But since I became aware that many other RPS writers share my concern but still put their work on display for me to enjoy, I decided to do the same.

Right now, I still have to find my way through the live journal jungle, find out how everything works, and I might look for an native English beta reader for my stuff to take the worst mistakes out before I put the story up. We'll see.
