Susan Ivanova 2/2 psycofoxx March 7 2009, 07:20:45 UTC
Background: Ivanova was born in the Russian Consortium in St. Petersberg in 2230. She was raised Orthodox Jewish. Her mother was a telepath, who hid her powers so she could have a normal life and family. When Ivanova was six, the Psicorps found her mother, giving her the option of joining the Psicorp, jail, or taking drugs to repress her abilities. She chose the drugs, but the drugs crumpled her mind and personality. After ten years she committed suicide. Ivanova has never forgiven the Psicorp for what happened to her mother.
She was secretly a very weak latent telepath and has to live in fear of being discovered by the Psicorp and sharing her mother’s fate.
Her brother Ganya was killed in the Earth-Minbari war. Her father grew distant after losing both his wife and son, and objected fiercely when Ivanova chose to join Earthforce on her 17th Birthday. This started a rift between them that was only barely reconciled when she called him on his deathbed. Weeks later, her uncle, a rabbi, comes to the station and after some soul searching she is able to come to terms with her feelings for her father and sits Shiva for him.
She was appointed as Lt.Commaner of Babylon 5, a position that is both military officer and diplomat. During her position as lt.Commader she managed to settle trade treaties, fight off invasion, and become the leader of both factions of the Drazi.
Ivanova’s first relationship turns out to be a member of the ‘homeguard,’ a group of radical anti-aliens extremists. She only asked the Captain for one thing, to be there when he ex-lover was busted. She later fell in love with the station telepath Talia Winters, although she insists that Talia remove her psicorp pin before she will let her in to talk to her. However, Talia had had a telepathic mole placed in her mind to spy of Babylon 5, ultimately destroying her personality.
She is promoted to Commander while on Babylon 5. She took an active role in the Shadow War, traveling with a ranger named Marcus Cole, to find the first ones and convinve them to side with the younger races against the shadows. Marcus was clearly attracted to her, although she made a game of rejecting his advances. Her efforts in rounding up the first ones was crucial as the ar ended, because the Vorlons also turned against the young races, seeking to eliminate any worlds the shadows had touched, as the shadows did the same to vorlon touched-races. The other first ones turn the tide and both the shadows and vorlons are exiled beyond the rim of space.
After the shadow wars, she was the voice of the resistance in standing up to the corrupt dictator President Clark. She held both the resistance together after Captain Sheridan was captured by Earth forces.
As the resistance fleet approached Earth, she was given word that a fleet of Earth warships, using shadow technology were plotting an ambush. Leaving most of her fleet behind, Ivanova led the charge, using her warships to eventually destroy the corrupted vessels, but at the cost of her own ship. Susan is horribly injured. Although she would survive those injuries, thanks to Marcus exchanging his life for hers, the Cfeit Ivanova will only remember the debris heading for her ship, and of the explosion that knocked her unconscious.

Third-person RP sample:
Ivanova walked into her quarters, happy to be off work after the last crisis. She didn’t expect company in her room.
“Mr.Gerribaldi,” She stated, “I can’t help but notice you in my room. Do you have an explanation, or should I just break your legs to save precious oxygen?”
“Susan,” the balding man looked up from his crouch. “We’ve had a problem, someone brought in gavgi’s on board with the last food shipment; some of them are loose.”
Ivanova sighed in exasperation, “Loose rodents, good to know it’s not an invasion of things that can hold guns. But since I can, that doesn’t explain why you took the risk to enter my quarters.”
“”They’re gnawing on the conduits, and I think we traced the problem here.”
“Gremlins then. I can handle them, Russians know about these things.” She took a spot beside him on the floor and looked over the opened wall panel. The sooner this was taken are of, the sooner she could have her coffee.
