1. I've got a leadership position at Busch Gardens, and although I know it means that I'll no longer have much of a social life, I'm so excited for the opportunities it's going to open up to me.
2. I have more of a problem letting material things go than letting people go.
3. It finally dawned on me that I needed to lose weight when an employee at Wal*Mart asked me if I was pregnant.
4. I'm a terrible gift-giver, therefore, I usually ask what people want, but when they say, "Oh, whatever," it irritates me so much. On the same token, I hate receiving gifts with a passion.
5. My favourite class ever was my Focused Inquiry class during my freshman year of college. I was inspired to think deeper, and I believe I have become a better thinker since the course. I also wrote my favourite research paper in that class, entitled "It's Not Pretty Woman", which is about juvenile prostitution and the effects it has on the girls. The paper really helped me see what I can write about in college.
6. I love playing "The Sims," but I can't find disc one of the installer set, and it's really bothering me. I think I'm going through Sims withdrawal. I think that my love of Sims is from the fact that I love being in control.
7. I have what may be considered an unhealthy addiction to weddings. One of my favourite shows is "Whose Wedding Is It, Anyway?" and I love reading bridal magazines. Fortunately, I'm now an intern at an event planning company, where we do a lot of weddings. I think that might scare my boyfriend. He just doesn't want to admit it.
8. I save text messages that either are absolutely hilarious (Robert: Ziggy [his cat] puked all over me) or really meaningful to me (AJ: I don't know if I ever told you how much I appreciated you being there for me, and now I am :-D Cheers cute face).
9. I often feel like I play favouritism with our cats. Muddy is sweeter, but Ziggy is more...spontaneous, and I often feel like I put Muddy before Ziggy. Therefore, I try to take a few minutes out of my day to hang out with Ziggy so that he knows I still love him dearly.
10. Jamie has always been the one to tell me when I'm about to do something really stupid or when I've already done something stupid. She doesn't know it, but she was the main reason I stopped spending time with a certain someone in the Summer of 2007. Yet, despite knowing all of the horrible and wrong things I've done, she willingly remains one of my sisters. Maybe she's the crazy one in our relationship :-D
11. I still get really guilty feelings when I let myself think of past flings. Sometimes my guilty feelings get so strong that it makes me physically ill, but unfortunately, I'm around one of the causes of my guilty feelings almost every week.
12. My biggest fear right now is that when Jamie moves to England, she'll forget about me, but always talk to others from here.
13. Although I have abnormally wide feet for a non-pregnant woman, I love shoe shopping. This has been a recent development, and I now have an awesome collection of winter heels, most of which I paid less than $20 for.
14. I miss dancing like crazy, but my schedule doesn't allow me time to take classes, and I'm pretty sure that the lack of dance in my life has been a great contributor to my excessive weight gain.
15. One of my sisters is getting married, and I'm so unbelievably happy that she picked me to be one of her bridesmaids, mainly because I hope that she'll want me to help her plan her wedding (see number 7) and because I know that we'll have the most banging bachelorette party EVER.
16. When I was about 15 or 16, I went to my cousin's wedding on the beach. I instinctively knew at the time that the marriage was going to be no good just by looking at the groom, then when the ceremony only lasted five minutes, it just reaffirmed everything. I later caught the bouquet, and now I'm scared that I'm going to have a bad marriage. I was also one of the youngest single women.
17. I have two Mr. Potato Heads, and I honestly think that makes me one of the coolest people in the world.
18. I call my step-grandfather Pepaw because I feel that calling him "Grandpa" would be unkind and unfair to both of my late grandfathers, although both had passed on before I was born.
19. My dad brought home this awesome cookies and cream mousse last week. My mom dropped some of it on the counter after rescuing her bowl from dad, and I sucked it off the counter. I have never felt more manly.
20. I had never done electromagnetic experiments in school, and I mentioned that to my dad when we were watching a TV show about magnets last week. My dad then went about setting up the experiment in the kitchen (being the science nerd he is), and called me in to do it. I think that was one of the best father-daughter bonding times ever.
21. I have several best friends, but I have one person who knows everything about me, including things I don't even know about myself. He has helped me through many of my life problems, and was the first male to show me that there are still decent men in the world. I have never been angry with him, and he's never gotten angry with me. We talk online all the time, and we call each other when funds permit. We've never actually met because we live in two different countries. I would never trade my relationship with him for anything, except maybe for a plane ticket to see him.
22. I have a horrible guilty conscience, which usually causes me to admit to anything wrong I have done or may know of, but the fact that I've held this one horrible secret for months is tearing me apart, especially since it would greatly affect a new and very dear friend of mine if I were to tell her. However, I feel that she needs to know that she's being lied to by someone she gives her all to. I just can't bring myself to telling her because I don't want to watch her heart break.
23. My friends often refer to me as "The Pharmacy" due to the amount of painkillers I usually carry on me. Which reminds me that I need to refill the bottle.
24. Malia is my favourite Obama daughter. At her father's inauguration, there were countless numbers of media outlets recording his speech, but she was holding up her own camera, recording her daddy. She just has to have her very own copy. I'd do the exact same thing.
25. My pride and joy of my bedroom is my fuzzy lamp. It's almost up to my shoulders. But it's not the fact that it's a tall, white, fuzzy lamp that makes it so awesome. It's the fact that Ziggy thinks it's another cat, and will consistently try playing with it and licking it.
26. Despite the fact that I'm horrible with kids, I really want one. I'm getting a lot more personal exposure to them, and it's really making me want one more.
27. I used to be a total bitch because I thought I was better than everyone else. Now, I know I'm not better than everyone else, and I like to think I've become a nicer person.
28. I get jealous and suspicious really easily. It caused a past relationship to dissolve, and I'm trying not to let either take hold of my current relationship. I know that I have no reason to be jealous or suspicious, but I still can't help the feeling.
29. I love to travel. My favourite vacation so far was to Paris in 2005. Although I missed the chance to do an amazing musical, I would never have traded that trip for anything. I had some amazing food, I learned a lot, and I thoroughly embarrassed myself underneath the Eiffel Tower.
30. I'm thinking about getting a little stuffed bear that can easily be packed in a purse and be photographed in front of various places around the world. I'd document it as "Mr. Hanfrey's Adventures Through Time." I think I'd also like Mr. Hanfrey to go with my friends on their journeys around the world, and all of us mail him to and from each other, if needed.
31. On days where I'm just going to be at home for most of the day, I don't see the point in getting out of my PJs. I don't want to have to change multiple times in one day, and I really like to just be comfortable.
32. Ever since I first saw that Animal Planet was going to be airing a show about Jockeys, I have refused to support anything done by Animal Planet. I find it so interesting and disgusting that a channel that does so much with and about animals could even think about showing a program that supports horseracing, which I consider to be a very, very cruel "sport." If you don't believe me, look up horseracing and the effects it has on the animals. It's eye-opening.
33. I envy those that can wait until marriage. I wish I had had that kind of strength.
34. I really want to start going back to church. I went to my parents' Sunday school class and church afterwards, and I felt a warmth that I haven't felt in years. I'm also really looking forward to starting my service as an acolyte again. I miss those days...even the crazy ones.
35. When I get married, I already know who my officiants are going to be: Kirk Mariner and David Rochford. I grew up with Kirk as my Senior Pastor, and David became a friend to me over his years at my church. Plus, Kirk always found a way to make fun of my height during church services.
36. I've really loved reading all of my friends "Random Facts" postings. I've learned a lot about people I don't know too well, as well as learned some really interesting stuff about really good friends.
37. I am a terrible procrastinator. I was told last Friday to make a Plan of Action for my internship and Wednesday afternoon to make up the table number card things (both of which are due tomorrow), and I haven't finished the table numbers or even started the Plan of Action.
38. I miss my bestest friend. He's been sick lately and I've not been around my computer when he's been able to get online. I have a lot to tell him.
39. I'm getting surgury soon, and I'm actually really excited for it. It's going to get rid of a lot of pain I've been dealing with for years, and although it's going to restrict my diet, I'm hoping it'll help me lose some weight.
40. I love to read, but I haven't had too much time to do it for pleasure for a while. I've read a couple of silly books (which I would definitely reccommend), but I'm ready to read something real...like Harry Potter.
41. Which reminds me, I am a Harry Potter NERD. I love Harry Potter and everything about it. I have all the books in hard cover, I have a Slytherin shirt and necklace, most of the DVDs, a diary, and the encyclopedia Rowling published about the different creatures in the series. Jamie and I have already decided that we're going to the opening of the HP theme park in England, even if we have to camp out for three days ahead of time in the middle of an English winter.
42. My dream is to be in a Harry Potter movie. Even if I'm just an extra, I could die happy after being in it. It would be even cooler if I got to interact with Tom Felton (the actor who plays Draco Malfoy) because I think he's probably one of the hottest men on Earth. He's right up there with George Cloony, Antonio Banderas, and Johnny Depp.
43. Ever since I found out that Daniel Radcliffe was about my height and John Wayne had smaller feet than me, I've become much happier about my height. It's always good to know that short people do well in movies.
44. I have a favourite shot glass. It's the one I got on the Queen Mary, and it's tilted like the smokestacks on the ship. When I bought it, the sales associate said "Now, if the shot glass starts looking upright, you need to stop drinking." That made my day.
45. The "N" key is very worn down on this keyboard. It's actually developed indentations from where my nails have repeatedly hit it and eventually made grooves on it.
46. I can't type well while looking down at my fingers. I have to be looking somewhere else, otherwise I'm having to go back and edit a lot of what I had just typed.
47. Despite popular belief, Cinderella is not my favourite Disney character. Mulan is. Mulan stands up for her family and goes against everything she was raised to be just so that she could protect her father. All Cindrella did was stand up to her step mother and marry a prince. But Mulan fought Huns, caused an epic avalanche, saved the Emperor, won over a really hot Captain, and got a dragon. How cool is that?
48. I have a list of things to do/places to see before I die. It has some pretty cool stuff on there. I used to have it posted on my closet door with a pen velcro'd to it so that when I thought of something, I could write it down. Unfortunately, I can't find it right now, so I'm going to have to start a new one.
49. My bathrobe is my best friend. It's really warm, really fuzzy, and pretty much awesome. It also reminds me of my bedroom before the makeover because it's blue with yellow stars on it, and my bedroom was yellow with blue stars.
50. I got the idea for the old design of my bedroom on Christmas right before we moved out of the old house. Everyone else had chosen which colours they had wanted in their bedrooms, but I still hadn't. I was sitting in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas morning, and I looked down at my PJs and said, "Mom, this is how I want my room," and I pointed to my PJ pants. And that's exactly how my room turned out.
51. I still think of the time I ran into a mailbox in Kingsmill at 2am, and I still laugh. I also still wonder if they've fixed it yet.
52. I talk to myself a lot. I don't know why I do it, but I just do.
53. Roller coasters are God's gift to man. I have ridden every coaster I have been told to ride, and I have loved each. My favorite is and always has been Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Maybe it's because it's my favourite colour? Maybe it's because Fabio got hit by a goose while riding? I don't know. But it is pretty awesome I've been up to the top of it several times...by foot.
54. I know some pretty random information about really random stuff. For example, I know (generally) how cat and dog food is made. I also know a few random things about a few TV shows.
55. Scrubs=Life. I was devastated when it was announced that this season is the last. I have found that many real-life situations have been helped by what happened on Scrubs. It also dawned on me the other day that my though processes are almost identical to J.D.'s, but hopefully without the head-tilting. I also know a lot of random, useless information about that show.
56. I love baking, especially when I can get my hands on Ghiradelli's Double Chocolate Chip Brownies. I am also bound and determined to get Jamie to successfully bake something on her own before she moves to England.
57. I LOVE HOCKEY. I love watching it, I love playing it. I used to play hockey (I was the only girl in the league for the longest time), but then I just stopped doing it, and I miss it like crazy. I'd love to get back into it. I also adore hockey games, but I haven't been to one in ages. I'm a totally different girl when I'm either on the rink or watching the game. I just hate those times when there's no fight going on.
58. I hate that I'm not as good of a singer as I used to be. I used to be able to hit any note that was given to me without any problem. I'm working on extending my range back to what it used to be, but the best way for me to work on it is when I'm in the car by myself, and the only person to cringe when I hit a bad note is myself. I think this may be taking a toll on my self-confidence, since I was so used to being an excellent singer.
59. I have a hard time vocalising what I'm thinking. My problem is that my mind runs so much faster than my mouth can move. I also have a hard time reading things aloud for the same reason, and it's very frustrating as an actor and someone who is constantly in the public eye because they don't think that I have good communication skills. On that same note, once I get something in my mind, it's very difficult to get it out. My biggest problem is with songs. I've had the same song stuck in my head going on two weeks now. The time before, it was the same song for over a month. I've been lucky for a while that they've all been good songs, but one time I was cursed with a song that I only did not know, but I absolutely loathed stuck in my head...for three months. I was ready to rip my brain out.
60. I'm finally happy with where my life is going right now. I'm making money and I'm following dreams I've had for a while. I've got an amazing internship at an event planning company (that also does a lot of weddings) and I'm working on joining a station in Gloucester and becoming an EMT. I haven't felt this productive in years, despite having spent a year and a half in college.
