People and the similarity thereof

Jun 12, 2004 23:45

If there's one thing I've seen in people, all people, and this I say without a doubt at all, is the motivation to be different than everyone else. This seems the subconscious thing that drives every single human being. And drives them to do more drastic and in some cases horrific things.

Whey back when, when there were no telephones and internet and all that the strangest person you saw would be that old guy who, holy fuck, kicks puppy's. Ok, so thats worse probably but I can't think of anything. The only reason he kicked one puppy a day was because he didn't know about the old bastard two towns over who kicked two puppy's a day. And would ya look at that, no one gets hurt. Save a few puppy's who'll probably grow up and kill the old guys in their sleep but thats not the point.

These days to be different you've got to be fucking out there. Now, because of mass media and widespread information everyone knows what they have to do to beat the next guy at his own game. "Well I bet I can jump off a bridge!" "Well I bet I can shoot my face in public!" Jesus people how far will you go to be different and this new misconstrued version of 'inovating'.

Ok so not all of it is bad. But religions and subcultures are another have evolved as another way to prove your difference from the rest of humanity. Everything is a steriotype now. Unfortunately with every revolution comes more steriotypes. Its worse when most subcultures and relitions think their better than everyone else. Internet brought about 7331. (leet, and its variations, for those of you who don't know it stands for elite. Or so I've been told at least.)

I dunno, the way I figgure it, we're going to hell in a hand-basket when kids go around shooting their classmates and all we can do is point the finger and video games, congratulate ourselves for finding the 'real' culprit, give ourselves a hearty pat on the back, and forget about the whole thing.

Its the people who can get over the whole idea of stereotype's in the first place who are good people. It truly is unfortunate that stereotype is a negative term and yet describes every faction of humanity.

I dunno, in closing. Let go people. Just because its different doesn't make it better, or you better for that reason. If the world keeps going the way it is I'm seriously think corporal punishment is a good thing. Seriously.

Ok, so I'm off on two tangents here, people having to be lead through everything in life and people's need to be different at all costs. I think I had more to say but like a dream its been lost in the moment. I'm sure it'll come back but I won't put anything here. But you get the jist of it. And if you do, spread the word.

<- Hell I even spell checked this bad boy for y'awl.
